About Rob Welcome to my website. I am a self employed DSA Approved Driving Instructor and DSA Fleet Registered Trainer. I do fleet training for a few of the larger fleet training providers where I deliver defensive driving courses to company vehicle users. I have over 25 years experience in driver and instructor training and I believe in providing a quality service. I always want my clients to enjoy their training and to develop their skills to a higher standard. Apart from running my defensive driving courses, which are aimed at any full licence holder, I also work as a driving instructor trainer, training people to become driving instructors and preparing them for the ADI part 1, 2 and 3 qualifying examinations.
I started my driver training career in 1984 and spent my early years teaching learner drivers. After a few years I began to do some instructor training helping to prepare PDI’s for their ADI qualifying examinations and have continued to do so over the years with considerable success including working full time for one of the UK’s largest driver training organisations.
In the early 1990’s I got involved in advanced driver training and have worked as a fleet trainer for some of the main fleet training companies on a freelance basis. Apart from fleet training, I have also worked as an instructor on National Driver Improvement Schemes for a couple of councils. NDIS is a defensive driving course for drivers who have the prospect of getting points put on their driving licence for driving offences such as driving without due care and attention. By attending such a course, they can keep the points off their driving licence.
I have recent experience in working in the Middle East where I have worked as a defensive driver trainer in Qatar delivering power point presentations and on road defensive driver training in a variety of vehicles from cars to buses. In Oman, I worked as a Petrol Development Oman (PDO) driver assessor / trainer where I worked in a team assessing drivers working on PDO projects. Whilst in Oman, I also trained a few of the Omani driving instructors to deliver advanced driving courses.
In the past, I have also worked as a bus and coach driver in the UK and hold a full manual PCV (category D) licence and have used my experiences in delivering driver training in such vehicles preparing clients for the PCV driving test.
